Liven up your next party by creating a unique spinning tray. We used chalkboard spray paint to create this customizable serving accessory.
Gather Your Supplies. In addition to painting supplies, you’ll need a 22”-wide pizza pan and a metal lazy susan. These parts get connected with epoxy.
Scuff the pizza pan with an abrasive pad to help the paint stick (inset photo). To protect the edge, we masked off the rim with narrow auto detailing tape. Then we covered the remainder of the rim with painter’s tape.
Lightly spray chalkboard paint over the entire pan. Allow it to dry, and then spray on at least two more coats to ensure full coverage and durability.
Mix up some epoxy and brush it onto the bottom of the lazy susan (inset photo). Then turn the lazy susan over, and press it to the bottom of the pizza pan.
We used the spinning tray as a serving station for a fondue party. The writable surface made it easy to label each of the food choices with chalk.
