Here's a great way to turn ordinary posters into stunning, substantial pieces of art. All it takes are some MDF panels and a craft product called Mod Podge.
Simple Art Solution. We created this series of wall hangings by cutting up a long poster with three separate images, but the possibilities are endless.
First, cut your poster apart as desired. Then cut MDF panels to size so that each poster section wraps around each side. You'll want at least 1/2" of paper to reach the back of each panel.
Mod Podge acts as glue to hold the poster to the MDF. You'll only need to apply a thin coat to attach the poster. Then use a credit card to press the poster in place and remove air bubbles (inset photo).
To cover the sides of each panel, fold the poster over like gift wrap (inset photo). Then apply a top coat of Mod Podge, which will dry clear.
A simple sawtooth picture hanger works well for hanging the panels. Use pliers to hold the fasteners in place as you attach each hanger.
When the panels are done, it's time to hang them on the wall. This project proves that budget-conscious decorators don't have to settle for low-profile art!
