This framed door art provides a great way to customize your front entrance. It’s easy to create in just an afternoon.
Gather the Supplies. The project is made from cedar 1x2s and metal netting. You’ll also need some wire, and embellishments such as faux flowers and wooden numbers.
The first step was to create a frame for the metal netting from cedar 1x2s. Once the boards were cut to length, we pre-drilled holes in the parts. Then we simply nailed the frame pieces together.
To give the project a more substantial look, we overlapped two layers of metal netting. We spray-painted both layers with metallic copper spray paint. Then we stapled the netting to the back side of the frame using a staple gun.
Next, it was time to embellish the art with faux flowers. We wrapped copper wire around the mesh and the flowers to secure them. Then we painted some wooden numbers, and adhered those to the frame.
The flowers give the art a cheerful look that brightens up the entry. This decor will look great all through the spring and into the summer months. Plus, the embellishments can be changed to match different seasons.
