These simple plant surrounds will turn an ordinary potted plant into a stylish home accessory. Plus, they’re a lot less expensive than the designer pots found in stores.
Easy Assembly. The project starts with a unique sheet material that has 3/4” square openings. You’ll also need a 3/4”-thick cedar board, construction adhesive, finish nails, and painting supplies.
Start by cutting the parts for the surround using a jigsaw. For the sheet material, simply cut along the edges of the squares to get straight lines. Then paint the parts as desired.
Apply construction adhesive to opposite edges of the cedar base. Then set two of the sides in place, and secure them with nails.
Put more adhesive on the exposed sides and base edges, and add the last two sides. Tape holds the parts together while the adhesive dries.
Finish up the project by setting the potted plants in their new surrounds. The plant surrounds have a simple design that makes them great for any room.
