Window film isn’t just a practical way to block light or add privacy – it also adds some style to ordinary windows or even accessories. Although there are many style options, you can go even further to customize the film with DIY modifications or by applying it to decor.

Personalize window film by adding cutouts to an otherwise ordinary window application. First, cut patterns out of contact paper and apply them to the window. Then apply the film as directed, and use a utility knife to cut around the patterns. Remove the patterns to reveal the whimsical cutouts.
Flat or cylindrical glass objects, such as this vase, are ideal for experimenting with different styles of window film. We chose a textured window film style to spice up the plain, inexpensive accent.
We used “rice paper” window film to create a translucent, Asian-inspired mat for the plain glass frame. Simply apply the film to the inside of the back sheet of glass, and let it cure.
