A super-sized wall clock provides a dramatic way to dress up a wall. This one is easy to make using fabric, a frame, wooden numbers, and a clock movement. A piece of fabric provided the inspiration for our clock. Its bold colors and playful numerals make a strong statement.
The framed fabric has to be able to support the clock movement, so start by cutting a piece of hardboard to fit inside the frame. Then glue on the fabric using spray adhesive. As you apply the fabric, carefully smooth out the wrinkles.
Next, we purchased a large clock movement and centered the mounting plate in the frame. Mark the position with painter’s tape, then attach the plate with carpet tape and short screws.
We painted four wooden numbers with lime green paint to match the fabric. Once all of your components are ready to go, mount them on the wall for a stunning display.
